Thread preference: My design preference is to match the thread to the fabrics in you quilt that are the lightest in value, using neutrals lot.

Batting preference: Most of the batting I stock is on a 93" rool. I will use what is needed for your quilt (small side + a 5" margin) and charge per inchFor example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I wouldcut 65" inches of the batting of your choice.

How to Prepare Your Quilt so You can have the Best Results!

What size should my backing be?

I require the backing to be 5" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 70" x 90". It can be bigger, not smaller. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load (adding extra fabric).

Please press your top and backing for me so that it's nice and neat and ready for me to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!

Quilting Design Choice:

I want this to be fun for you and not overwhelming! If you are having difficulty in choosing a design, I will work with you to make the best choice. You also have the option of having me make the quilting decisions for you. It all depends on your purpose for the quilt, sometimes "done" is best!
